The Victorian Clinical Genetics Services (VCGS) offers training positions in clinical genetics and is a fully accredited centre of training through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). VCGS has a comprehensive, three year training program in clinical genetics where fellows can participate in paediatric, adult and reproductive clinics, as well as gain direct laboratory experience.

Fellows undertake a supervised research project during their training which can be in genomics, clinical care or laboratory-based, with many opportunities to publish research and case reports during their training. Exposure to genomic medicine is our strength at VCGS with fellows gaining exposure to all aspects of genomic testing from the clinic to the laboratory and returning results to the patient.

We are co-located with the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute and The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Given the number of clinics we run and specialty work we perform, VCGS is a sought after training centre for clinical genetics internationally.
