percept NIPT conditions
This information is intended for health professionals.
What conditions does percept screen for?
Our genome-wide approach can identify pregnancies at increased chance of a broad range of chromosome conditions. This includes trisomy for all chromosomes, deletions and duplications of parts of chromosomes and other chromosome anomalies such as unbalanced rearrangements.
percept screens for:
- the most common chromosome conditions involving chromosomes 21, 18, 13, X and Y
- segmental imbalances on all autosomes (deletions and duplications ≥5-7 Mb)
- rare autosomal aneuploidies (trisomies other than 21, 18 and 13).
percept and microdeletions
Not all microdeletions will be detected by percept NIPT (e.g. 22q11.2).
Some microdeletion screening has a high false positive rate. Contact our team if you have a concern about a particular microdeletion syndrome.
